Individual Therapy FAQs
What kind of therapy do you use?
We take a trauma-informed, client-centred approach. Sessions may include EMDR, ART, ACT, CBT, and other evidence-based practices, tailored to your needs.
What can I expect in a session?
Expect a compassionate space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Some sessions may involve practical coping tools, others may focus on deep emotional processing.
How often should I come to therapy?
Most clients start with weekly sessions to build momentum. Depending on your goals, we may move to bi-weekly or monthly sessions as progress unfolds.
Is therapy covered by insurance?
Yes. We provide receipts that can be submitted to any insurance provider covering psychotherapy or counselling. Direct billing is coming soon.
Is online therapy secure?
Absolutely. We use PHIPA-compliant platforms (Jane and Doxy.me) that protect your privacy and allow you to join securely from any device.
What if I don’t know what’s “wrong”?
That’s okay—you don’t need to have it all figured out. Therapy can help you explore what’s going on beneath the surface, even if you’re not sure where to start.
How do I know if therapy is working?
Therapy looks different for everyone, but signs it’s working can include feeling more aware, responding differently to stress, or noticing shifts in how you think or relate to others. We also check in regularly on your goals and progress.
